Destiny 2 Update 2.18 Patch Notes

2.18 update arrived for Destiny 2, and here is the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This patch brings the Season of the Splicer update, also known as the 3.2.0.1 update. We got a preview of the patch notes yesterday, but you can find all the details on what's changed here. This new season brings the Transmog system, which allows players to essentially change the appearance of their armor without changing its stats. There's also plenty of other content to look forward to in the coming weeks. Here's everything new with Destiny 2.18 update 2.



Destiny 2 Update 2.18 Patch Notes

ACTIVITIES

GENERAL

  • Four Lost Sectors have been added to the daily Legend or Master difficulty Lost Sector rotation!
  • Fixed issues on a case-by-case basis with fighters not responding or clumping together in various activities.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent AI enemies from firing in some 6-player activities while there were lots of enemies alive in the area.

CREUSET

  • Crucible 6v6 activities have an updated introductory experience.
      • You can now browse your teammates to view stats associated with the activity you enter.
  • Momentum Control and Team Scorched are back and will be available as part of the weekly playlist rotation.
  • Adjusted The Dead Cliff spawn points so that players are no longer placed on the edge of the cliff at the start of the match.
  • Fixed defeat audio for teammate defeats in Private Matches and in Showdown.
  • Disabled mercy rule in private matches.
  • Players can now join a private match in progress at any time, regardless of team scores or time remaining.
  • Fixed inaccessible Heavy Ammo placement on Far Shore, Bannerfall, Widows Court, and Flame Altar.

GAMBIT

  • Fixed a rare issue that could prevent fronts from rotating due to a single living enemy hiding in a previously cleared front on the other side of the map.
  • Fixed incorrect wave progression on Legion's Folly (Vex).
  • Fixed an issue where a Scorn Abomination could become friendly and start attacking other Scorn.
  • Fixed an issue where clods left behind would immediately disappear if the opposing team invoked their primacy.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented fighters in the Deep Six Gambit map from moving or taking cover.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed Warlock players to exploit Blink-related abilities to stay on the opposite side during Invasions in Gambit.

NEW LIGHTING CAMPAIGN

  • Improved explanations in some tutorial messages.
  • Tutorial messages will no longer appear to distract players during Crucible and Gambit matches.
  • Fixed an issue where players could abandon the quest “A Spark of Hope” and not be able to pick it up from the quest archive vendor in the tower.

DESTINATION PATROL

  • The moon:
      • Fixed an issue where some Moon Free Roam quest enemies would respawn immediately after being defeated.
      • Fixed an issue where the Hive Rune could be missing from one of the stones in a chest puzzle on the Moon.
      • Fixed an issue where some of the chest puzzles on the Moon were not appearing.
  • Cosmodrome:
      • Shaw Han now offers repeatable Cosmodrome Bounties.
      • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck behind the boss portal in the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector.
      • The hive under the Division's helicopters will now always be that Ogre that first killed you in 2014.
      • All Forgotten Dead Ghosts left around the Cosmodrome have been removed and properly put to rest.
      • Caves now have player containment volumes around its water boundaries.
  • Dream city:
      • Fixed an issue where filling your quest/bounty slots could cause them to lose the “A Small Gift” pursuit assigned to them.

STRIKES

  • Fallen S.A.B.E.R .:
      • In the first encounter inside Rasputin's Bunker, the volume of dead inside the Bottomless Pits has been reduced to give players a chance to recover.
      • Speeded up the transition from orbit briefing dialog to gameplay by seconds.
      • Fixed an issue where lines of public event dialogue from the previous area could play during the Warsat encounter.
      • Player ghosts are now immediately reactivated when the attack ends.
      • The first fireteam member to enter the Warsat area should now see the Warsat reliably fall - be careful!
  • Devil's Lair:
      • Removed some objects to interact with but had no effect.
      • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in the air during the Sepiks Prime boss fight when using Thundercrash.
      • Fixed an issue where Sepiks Prime was taking more damage than intended.
  • Reverse arrow:
      • As the boss fight progresses to the lower layers, the ghost of any player left above will now spawn on the current layer.
  • Keeper of Nothing:
      • Fixed an issue where the number of champion kills was not always being tracked correctly.
      • Fixed an issue where some Cabal Champions were missing from the Arena fight in the Ruins of the Ancient Prison of the Elders.
  • The Corrupt:
      • Fixed an issue where players could get stuck in the Ogre room if other fireteam members ran too far ahead of them.
  • The dishonored:
      • Fixed an issue where players who had completed the New Light campaign would still hear New Light dialogue during the attack instead of normal dialogue.
      • Fixed issues where players could be kicked out of the boss room and joining players could spawn too far behind their fireteam.
  • Grounds of evidence:
      • Fixed an issue where the strike name was written as Proving Ground.

PUBLIC EVENTS

  • Stop Ether Ritual:
      • Fixed an issue where the UI would not always show that you were engaged in the public event.
  • Ritual of the hive:
      • Fixed an issue where players would engage in the Public Event just by being in the same area on the Moon.

RAIDS

  • Deep Stone Crypt:
  • Fixed an issue where players could drop down from Sparrows to reset the fire in the basement of the Crypt Security encounter.
  • Fixed an issue where players could avoid removing the rally banner after the final encounter started.
  • Fixed an exploit where players can complete the Atraks-1 challenge mode by having players sucked out of the airlock.
  • Fixed an issue where players could trigger a quarantine during the Crypt Security encounter by using a finisher on fighters.
  • Garden of Salvation:
  • Fixed an issue where some music could not be played during the Divinity quest.
  • The last wish:
  • Fixed an issue where Riven could start the wiping throw 20 seconds faster if she went to a certain side.

Dungeons

  • Pit of Heresy:
      • Fixed an issue that allowed the transport item to be duplicated when submerged.

UI / UX

  • Removed display limit on player waypoint season rank. Waypoint will now display the player's actual Season Rank when it is above 999.
  • Season Rank now appears in player nameplate tooltips.
  • The gold title's gilt count is displayed on players' waypoints in-game.
  • Fixed an issue where some sigils were not gilding with the gilding UI.
  • Fixed an issue where the sound effect when gilding a title would not sync with the animation.
  • Fireteam privacy button moved to list layout.
  • Reduced disassembly time and improved disassembly efficiency on some older Fizzled items and currencies.
  • Tooltips for items in the Triumphs tab no longer display “Triumph” for all types found in the Record tab.
      • Lore, Metric, etc. are all named appropriately.
  • Several changes in the navigation mode:
      • Separate bounties from quests in Nav mode.
      • All Bounties now spawn in Nav Mode. As a result, they can no longer be tracked.
      • Category switching on keyboard and mouse can now be controlled with the scroll wheel.
      • Tracked Triumph now appears in its own navigation mode category.
  • ROD. now appears in the Director's Destinations tab (moved from the tower map) and has its own map.
  • Added captions to Director Destinations tab.
  • Added shortcut between HUD quest step notifications and quest details screen for keyboard and mouse users.
  • Updated loadout tips for Anti-Champion mods.
  • Appearance customization has been added to the Vanity screen (under the Character screen).
      • Players can now fully customize their armor shaders and ornaments from this screen.
      • Players can now unlock the appearances of any armor they have obtained by using class-specific or MTX tokens (Synthweave Bolts or Synthweave Template).
      • Players can now apply shaders to all of their armor at once via the Overview tab.
      • Players can now preview shaders/adorns on multiple rooms at once in the Appearance Customization screen.

GAMEPLAY AND INVESTMENT

ARMOR

  • In Season of the Hunt, many armor mods have been dropped as a result of changing the energy types of all weapon-focused armor mods which have been changed to Any Energy Type. The pre-Armor 2.0 version of these perks is also deprecated.
  • The Mindvault ornament can now be equipped on the Year-1 version of the Insurmountable Skullfort.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in female character models using male character model hands during certain cutscenes (e.g. gear and character preview screens), causing the hands to visibly clip through the winding ends of the equipment.
  • Telesto will no longer incorrectly trigger the Death Throes perk from Verity's Brow Exotic.
  • Khepri's Sting will no longer grant Truesight when affected by another Guardian's Smoke Bomb invisibility.
  • The Helm of Felwinter will no longer default to Solstice 2020 armor glows on Void, regardless of the player's current subclass.
  • The Heavy Handed mod will now work correctly with the Shiver Strike melee.
  • Assassin's Cowl, Separation Enclosure, and Felwinter's Helm Exotics now trigger their effects on Stasis-powered melee kills.
  • The Separation Fence and Helm of Felwinter now spawn their effects at the location of the enemy defeated by a powered melee, instead of from the player's location.
  • Added a full suite of Trace Rifle-focused armor mods to the game.
  • Removed infusion caps from all legendary armor pieces issued or reissued in Season of the Worthy or later.
  • Armor sets issued in Season of the Worthy and Season of Arrivals have had their Legacy armor mod socket replaced with a combat style armor mod socket.

WEAPONS

  • Removed infusion caps from all legendary weapons issued or reissued in Season of the Worthy or later.
  • Weapon Archetypes
      • Nerves:
          • Aggressive Hand Cannons (120 RPM) now have damage and aim assist falloff distance reduced from 2 to 4 meters based on range stat.
          • This roughly halves the range buff they received in Beyond Light.
          • Vortex Frame Sword full energy Heavy attack ammo cost increased from 4 to 6.
          • Removed chip damage from swords.
      • Buffs:
          • Increased Sniper Auto Rifle (450 RPM) damage per bullet from 17 to 18.
          • Added a rare Linear Fusion Rifle and Bolt Grenade Launcher to the world loot pool.
          • Increased Linear Fusion Rifle precision damage by 15% and increased reserve ammo by 20%.
          • Increased damage falloff starting distance for Fusion Rifles, no effect on 100 range stat, +2m on 0 range stat.
  • Benefits
      • Nerves:
          • Quickdraw handling bonus is now removed after 1s after switching to this weapon, or when aiming down sights.
          • Replaced Quickdraw with Surplus on new and existing Felwinter's Lie and Astral Horizon drops.
          • Frenzy bonus damage reduced from +20% to +15%.
          • Reservoir Burst now increases magazine size in addition to its other effects, reduces bonus full battery damage from 33% to 25%.
      • Buffs:
          • Subsistence no longer reduces reserve ammo and Submachine Guns now receive the same fraction of ammo per kill as Auto Rifles.
          • High impact and pressure reserves are now active as long as their conditions are met (used to trigger on projectile fire).
          • Relentless now triggers more easily in PvE (immediate trigger on orange bars) and heals for 20% more.
          • Sympathetic Arsenal now grants +20 cooldown in addition to its main effect.
          • Dragonfly now works on Shanks and Heavy Servitors, and spawns even faster than after the Chosen Season change.
          • Hipfire Grip gains +1 degree Precision Hip Firing Angle Threshold, +1,2x reticle grip reduction distance (increase from Season of Arrivals buff)
          • Iron Grip, Iron Gaze, Iron Reach secondary stat penalty reduced from -40 to -30.
          • Osmosis and Elemental Capacitor now work when playing a Stasis subclass.
          • Elemental Capacitor with a Stasis subclass grants +recoil direction and reduces ADS movement speed penalty.
          • Reduced No Distraction proc time from 1,5s to 1s and increased flinch reduction from 30% to 35%.
          • Haste now always grants +20 handling and +20 cooldown in addition to the triggered effect.
          • Bottomless Sorrow now always grants +30 magazine stat in addition to the triggered effect.
  • Mods
      • Adept Mag and Adept Targeting secondary stat penalty reduced from -20 to -15, fixed Adept Mag not granting reserves when applied to a sword.
      • Adept Counterbalance increased the benefits of recoil direction.
  • Exotics
      • Mida Multitool Catalyst perk changed from Outlaw to No Distractions.
      • Hawkmoon increased the text priority of the Paracausal Charge and Paracausal Shot buffs (this sometimes fell to the bottom of the list).
      • Lament reduced damage from accelerated heavy attacks by approximately 16%.
      • Bastion chip damage has been removed and instead inherently knocks down unstoppable champions. Increased spread angle by 13%.
      • Ticuu's Divination can now be accessed through the Lost Lights Monument kiosk in the tower.
  • Bug fixes
      • Enhancing encircled perks will no longer persist when using the encircled specs mod.
      • Fixed an issue where Symmetry could damage friendly teammates in Crucible using its alt-fire mode.
      • Fixed an issue where Precision Hand Cannons would display a down arrow on the magazine stats when applying a Backup Mag mod.
      • Fixed an issue where the magazine size would still show a green increase arrow even when the magazine was decreasing on the time clause.
      • Fixed an issue where Threshold would trigger a generic SFX buff on every kill, even if Super Energy is full.
      • Fixed an issue where Cloudstrike could trigger Lightning Storm even if shooting at invulnerable targets.
      • Fixed an issue where Bad Juju's emissive color was white instead of its normal green.
      • Fixed an issue where Summoner Auto Rifle's emissive color was white instead of its normal orange.
      • Fixed an issue where the seventh Seraph Shotgun ornament had artifacts near the bolt.
      • Fixed an issue where the Beloved Sniper Rifle was using the Beyond Light watermark instead of the Hunting Season watermark.
      • Fixed an issue where the MIDA multi-tool would spawn a first person animation when exiting a sprint.
      • Fixed an issue where Adept Mag was not working on Sola's scar.

POWER AND PROGRESSION

  • Infusion cap for weapons and armor increased by 10 points. All Sources will now upgrade to 1260, Powerful Sources up to 1310, and Pinnacle Sources will upgrade to 1320.

BOUNTIES AND LAWSUITS

  • The Exo Stranger has a new Aspect Stasis quest available.
      • Requires ownership of Beyond Light, campaign completion, and acquisition of all prior Stasis aspects from abroad.
  • Fixed an issue where Stage 2 of the Born in Darkness Part 2 quest would unintentionally change to only require the use of stasis abilities against 30 fighters instead of the original 60. Players who have not yet completed this quest step will need to use Stasis abilities against 60 fighters.
  • Weapon-focused bounties now cycle on a weekly rotation instead of being random.
  • Fixed an issue where Eris Morn's Post-Campaign Memories quests were not appearing on her map marker.
      • Fixed an issue where the reward chest had no waypoint, making it easy to miss.
  • Zavala, Shaxx, and Drifter have new daily and repeatable stasis bounties available.
      • The Gambit daily bounty and the three repeatable bounties require acquiring a Stasis subclass.

ABILITIES, ASPECTS AND FRAGMENTS

  • Fixed a bug that caused the behavior of the Warrior's Arcstrider Hunter Combat Flow perk to behave inconsistently.
  • Support for color blind people
      • Stasis abilities now support colorblindness:
          • enemy crystals
          • Enemy flurry
          • Enemy Duskfield
          • Enemy Dark Watcher
      • Player highlighting in Crucible now supports color blindness.
  • Setting subclasses
      • Hunters:
          • Silence & Squall freeze blast reduced from 12m to 8,5m radius.
          • Enemy Squall now has a red ring to define its area on approach.
      • Titans:
          • Shiver Strike melee energy is now refunded when Glacial Quake ends.
          • Fixed an issue where players could trigger Whisper of Torment while standing in an opponent's barricade.
      • Warlocks:
          • shadebinder
              • Bleak Watcher Aspect now grants two shard slots.
          • Chaos Reach
              • Fixed an issue with Chaos Reach Super allowing it to penetrate enough walls or thin objects to damage and kill opponents on the other side.

COMBATANTS

  • Reduced the health of Fallen Dropship turrets.

STAT TRACKERS

  • Added stat trackers for each seal that can be gilded, showing how many times the seal has been gilded.

SEASONAL CHALLENGES

  • The Well Rested tooltip has been updated to direct players to seasonal challenges rather than weekly bounties.
  • Added a Past header category for Seasonal Challenges and moved any season of chosen Seasonal Challenges with weapon, reputation, or lore rewards to the Season of the Chosen category under Past .
      • All other Season of the Chosen seasonal challenges are no longer available.
  • Added a new XP reward size for Seasonal Challenges.

SHADOWS

  • Shaders are now unlockable objects and are no longer consumed upon application.
      • Shaders no longer exist in inventory and can now be found in collections.
          • Any shader that has been unlocked in Collections can be applied to weapons or armor for the cost of 500 Glimmer.
          • Existing shaders kept in player inventories, chests, and at the postmaster have been removed.

SEASON PASS

  • Updated tooltip to inform players purchasing Season Pass Ranks at Rank 99, does NOT provide progression past Rank 100
  • Seasonal Armor will no longer be removed from the Season Pass.

VALUE, INFAMY AND GLORY

  • Glory, Valor, and Infamy reputations have had their internal systems rebuilt into a unified implementation. In-game, players should expect minimal perceived changes.
      • Reputation tracking for Unified Glory, Valor, and Infamy ranks
          • Before Forsaken, Glory and Valor only had major ranks (Guardian, Brave, etc.).
          • After Forsaken, Glory and Valor gained sub-ranks (Brave I, II, III) alongside Infamy. However, all historical tracking (lifetime ranks) and quest usage still used the original major ranks.
          • Now, sub-ranks are now simply referred to as ranks, and all usage has been converted to use them where applicable. (That is, all lifetime values ​​and quest objectives have been tripled.)
      • Glory playlists no longer prevent Valor win streaks from declining.
      • The Valor badge now appears on the Trials launch screen.
      • Infamy win streak bonus is now linear (+35 points per win).

  • Ada-1 is back in the tower with a variety of new offerings.
      • After completing the seasonal intro quest, players can visit Ada-1 to collect Armor Synthesis bounties to earn materials for up to 10 Armor Synthesis per class per season.
  • Banshee-44 no longer offers armor mods and will instead offer a selection of weapon mods that rotate daily.
  • When Xur's inventory includes an exotic armor piece with a perk effect that depends on the use of a particular ability, that armor piece should more reliably have a higher stat value in the stat that governs the cooldown of this ability.

FOCUS UMBRAL ENGRAMS AND PRISMATIC RECASTER

  • Focused Umbral Engrams now automatically decrypt when obtained through the Prismatic Recaster.
  • The visual states of the focus options on the Prismatic Redesign have been streamlined to reduce visual clutter and confusion.

PLATFORMS AND SYSTEMS

  • Added motion blur, chromatic aberration, and film grain options on Xbox One and PS4.

GENERAL

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Sparrow from cleaning when the rider left the game unexpectedly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused gear in the Destiny Content Vault to incorrectly drop from Strikes Unique Loot Lists.
  • Sparrows no longer stop after seven seconds and can now remain in the world semi-indefinitely.
      • Please be respectful of where you park them.
  • Players can now easily filter offers in the Eververse Storefront Archive tab.
      • Bids have increased to over 200 items in the archives.
  • The Store tab now displays a shard when Bright Engrams are available for decryption.

This latest Destiny 2.18 update 2 brings a lot of changes to the multiplayer shooter as seen in the patch notes, with the new season also bringing back the original Destiny's Vault of Glass raid in the coming weeks.
