Chapter 4: The Banquet of Pericles

Now that you have done favors for all of Pericles' friends, you can go to his house to attend the banquet. There, you will find Phoibe. The girl left Kephallonia hoping to find you, but got caught while leading a gang of orphans in Athens. She now works for Aspasia, Pericles' companion.

Phoibe will ask you to entrust your weapons and equipment to him and to dress in Athenian attire for the banquet, so as not to frighten the guests. You can accept his proposal or not.

Once at the party, you will find Herodotus who will introduce you to the most prestigious guests. Some of them might have information about your mother. You will have to complete two sub-quests in order to progress.

- Alcibiades: This young protege of Péricles is a follower of carnal pleasures. He hides in one of the bedrooms on the ground floor with a woman, a man and two goats. If you care about what's going on in the room rather than focusing on your goal, you can join the high leg part. Either way, Alcibiades won't give you any information unless you bring him oil.

The oil bottle is in the kitchen, where Sophocles is. Go help yourself and return to Alcibiades. He will then inform you that most of the women of Sparta who want to flee the city take refuge in Corinth.

- Sophocles and Euripides: Sophocles is exasperated by the actions of Euripides and his sidekick. He hides in the party kitchens. He wants you to drink Euripides so he'll be too drunk to see Sophocles leave the party. He then asks you to give him a sweet wine.

Ask the kitchen slave to give you a carafe of sweet wine and go to Euripides. Say you are a servant of Pericles and you are there to serve him wine and he will drink it. Fill his glass three times and he will start telling you about Hypocrates, a man from Argolis

Once you have completed your two missions, you can go debate with Socrates. You can try to get information out of him, but the man prefers debate. If you argue with him, you can confront him with his contradictions and impress Aspasia who will come to join the party.

Tell her about the woman you are looking for and she will mention Xenia, a pirate who might know more. She then asks you to bring back Pericles among her guests. Climb to the roof via the staircase in the room next to Alcibiad's, and you'll find Pericles chatting with Horodote. Inform him of the coming of worship. You will only have to find Phoibe to leave the banquet.

If you saved Phoibe's friend on Kephallonia, she will inform you that the Plague has ravaged the island.
