The Daughters of Artemis from Assassin's Creed Odyssey will put you to the test against legendary animals. These are 8 very powerful creatures, scattered all over Greece.

The Legendary Animals d'Assassin's Creed Odyssey are bigger and more powerful versions of the various hostile animals that you can encounter in the game. They have special skills as well as a very high number of hit points, which will make for some pretty tough fights. They are not to be confused with Mythical Creatures like the Minotaur or the Gorgon.

Deep in Phokis lies the Temple of Artemis, north of the Sacred Lands of Apollo. You will meet there Daphnae, a young woman who is part of a cult called the Daughters of Artemis. She will challenge you to hunt a creature for her, the Calydonian Boar. Once you successfully kill this creature, it will challenge you to hunt all of Greece's Legendary Animals and bring back pelts for it as proof. For each skin you bring back to Daphnae, she will give you legendary equipment to complete the Mistress of Artemis set.

These pieces of equipment offer very important bonuses for players who have specialized in hunter skills. You'll be able to double your bow damage, charge your arrows faster, and get bonus adrenaline and damage by doing headshots.

Here is the list of legendary animals, as well as the places where they hide:

The Calydonian Boar
Phokis - Sacred Lands of Apollo

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Calydonian Boar is the first legendary animal to hunt. He is capable of making powerful forward charges over very long distances. Use your bow instead and be prepared to dodge to beat him. Every time you take a quarter of his health away from him, he'll back off and call down a horde of small boars that you can easily kill with area weapons, like the staff.

Ourse Callisto
Arkadia - Golden Fields

Callisto Bear is a life point bag that you cannot stun or flex. The more life you lose to him, the more powerful and longer his claw combo will be. It is therefore a hand-to-hand combat of endurance. Use poison to reduce his damage and armor, to make the fight easier.

The Deer of Cerynia
Euboea - Point of Artemision

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Biche de Cérynie leaps in all directions, which makes it difficult to hit with your bow. Since she stays a good distance anyway, unless she's trying to gore you, you should use long-range weapons like the spear. She can call waves of deer to her rescue whenever you take a quarter of her health away from her.

The Nemean Lion
Argolis - Chasm of Heracles

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Nemean lion is very fast and very powerful. He likes to dodge your melee attacks to counter immediately. He and his lionesses can jump at your throat and immobilize you for a moment, giving others time to nibble on your toes. This fight will require good reflexes to be ready to dodge all the attacks of this pack.

The Lycaon Wolf
Lakonia - Dioscuri Peninsula

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Wolf Lycaon is capable of jumping your throat by biting you hard. If he catches you, he will recover some of his life points. He's not particularly fast, but he's very powerful and tends to attack in your downtime. He can also summon a pack of wolves to his rescue.

The Erymanthian Boar
Ellis - Erymanthan Foothills

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Erymanthian Boar is quite different from that of Calydon. After each of its attacks, it lets out a toxic cloud (we let you imagine where) capable of poisoning you. In addition to hurting you, it greatly reduces your damage. You should only face this animal from a distance with your best bow.

The Cretan Bull
Messara - Fertile Battlefield

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Cretan Bull is the specialist in charges and kicks. He can travel long distances, head down, hoping to knock you down. So be very careful when he starts leaning forward. The more HP you take away from him, the faster he will be. He will also be able to use new attacks, such as hoof kicks if you are behind him.

The Crocotta Hyena
Kythera Island - Skandeia Bay

Legendary Beasts and the Hunt of Artemis - Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide

The Crocotta Hyena is a fast creature, able to dodge most of your attacks and get behind your back so you lose sight of it. Its movements are quite complex and its attacks very fast. Instead, use weapons like the staff to cover a wide area, so you can hit your enemy even if they dodge or get behind you.

When you find all the skins, Daphnae will have moved from Phokis to Chios, to the village of Artemis. Give him all the skins to receive the rewards and you can fight him to get more Aremis crew for your ship.
