You can craft bonuses on your different Assassin's Creed Odyssey equipment. This will allow you to perfect your style of play.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey allows you to equip 8 different pieces of equipment, each with its own bonuses. To get the best armor and especially the best weapon, you will have to rely partly on luck and forging.

Choose your specialization

Your definition of the best gear depends heavily on your playstyle. Assassin's Creed Odyssey allows you to specialize in three damage types, each with associated gear and skills.

Best Weapons and Armor - Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Hunter damage increases your bow damage.
Warrior damage increases your damage in combat.
Assassin damage increases your stealth damage.

If you prefer to use stealth skills, you will therefore have to favor equipment that increases Assassin's damage.

Basic equipment bonuses

Each piece of equipment has a random stat bonus. Two quick daggers will have the same damage stats, but not necessarily the same associated bonus. The number of bonuses a piece of equipment has depends on its rarity.

Common equipment: A common bonus
Rare equipment: Two common bonuses
Epic Equipment: Three common bonuses
Legendary Equipment: Two common bonuses + one legendary bonus

Legendary gear can also have a set bonus, if you have 5 pieces of legendary armor belonging to the same family.

It goes without saying that common and rare gear is of little use in your quest for the ultimate gear. On the other hand, it is difficult to find epic and legendary equipment that corresponds exactly to what you are looking for. You will need a lot of luck to get a piece of gear where the bonuses synergize well.

You cannot modify the bonuses of equipment, so you will have to farm the equipment until you find one that suits you before improving it.

Optimize Equipment

Optimizing your equipment is very important and differs depending on your specialization. Optimizing a Warrior build is not done the same way as with an Assassin build.

Hunter Equipment

To optimize Hunter damage, you first need a powerful bow with high base damage. Most of your gear bonuses are additional percentages based on your base damage. Having a 5% bonus on a 1000 damage bow will have less impact than a 20% bonus on a 900 bow. they have more bonuses.

The interesting hunter bonuses are:
+10~20% Hunter damage
+5~15% to all damage
+10~25% headshot damage
+10%~50% adrenaline per headshot
+5%~10% shot charge speed

To get the best bow damage, you will need to accumulate the most equipment with these bonuses. There are also abilities that increase your raw hunter damage.

There is an interesting weapon set with many bonuses for the hunter: the Artemis set. You will unlock it by hunting the legendary animals designated by the daughters of Artemis.

Warrior Equipment

To optimize the Warrior's damage, you first need a powerful weapon with high base damage. But unlike the bow, you can equip two different weapons. This means that it is better to use your main weapon in combat and use your second weapon only for its bonuses. There are many bonuses available for each different weapon types.

Interesting warrior bonuses are:
+10~20% Warrior damage
+5~15% to all damage
+10~25% damage with sword / daggers / staffs / etc...
+10~25% damage with heavy / light weapons
+5~15% Power Attack Damage

To get the best warrior damage, you are going to have to accumulate the most equipment with these bonuses. Know that the damage of your two weapons does not accumulate, unlike bonuses. There are also abilities that increase your raw warrior damage.

There is an interesting weapon set with many bonuses for the warrior: the God of War set. You will unlock it by completing the game.

Assassin Equipment

To maximize Assassin's damage, you don't need weapons. Your base damage is scaled to your character level and your Spear of Leonidas level. You can upgrade the Spear by killing members of the Cult of Kosmos. There are also abilities that increase your assassination damage. The Heroic Strike skill does a lot of damage, even in combat.

The interesting hunter bonuses are:
+10~20% Assassin damage
+5~15% to all damage
+10~25% back damage
+10%~30% Heroic Strike damage

To get the best assassination damage, you're going to need to stack the most gear with these bonuses.

There is an interesting weapon set with many bonuses for assassins: the pirate set. You will unlock it by killing members of the Cult of Kosmos of the Aegean Sea.

The Bonus Craft

In addition to the basic bonuses of your equipment, you can also add an additional bonus to the forge. You can craft many different bonuses. Check out our gear crafting guide to learn more.

Armors

There are very few defensive bonuses on gear in the game. The level of your armor has very little bearing on the damage you take anyway. Also, with a minimum of experience, you should be able to dodge or parry any enemy attack. In fact, the armor stat itself isn't really important or interesting. Above all, favor armor that offers you the statistical bonuses corresponding to your style.

The ideal is of course to have only legendary equipment accumulating the best bonuses, but while waiting to reach this ideal, do not hesitate to equip armor or less powerful weapons, as long as they boost the statistic that that interests you. Rely especially on the statistics displayed at the bottom of the screen.
