The four stages of Pokémon Go's latest Alola to Alola special study which path to choose

Find here the four paths of the Alola to Alola special study of Pokémon Go and the related rewards depending on the path you choose. For the first stage of the Alola à Alola special study, you will have to capture in order, 1, 4 and 7 pokémons, which will ensure you an encounter with Brindibou, Flamiaou and Otaquin and will reward you with 1000 XP points, 500 stardust and 15 poké balls. That's for the first step!



★ Note – You must log into Pokémon Go by Wednesday, June 1 to unlock this quest (and have completed the previous 4 Season Studies), after which you can complete it at your own pace. Then it will be too late! If you haven't completed the required special research quests, you can purchase a ticket for Alola in Alola from the in-game store for €4,99.

Step 2 – Alola to Alola choose your route between Mele-Mele, Akala, Ula-ula and Poni Island:

In the second stage, you will be asked to choose one of the following four paths, Mele-Mele Island, Akala Island, Ula-ula Island, and Poni Island. Be careful, now is the time to know what you want, because you cannot change this choice once it has been made. To let you know what awaits you, we have listed the challenges and rewards for stages 3 and 4 of each of the paths available to you. 

You will notice that the challenges to complete are much the same between the 4 paths available, but the rewards change. Take the path where the rewards matter most to you, it's as simple as that!

Below are all of the challenges and rewards you will get if you follow the Mélé-Mélé Island path of the Alola Special Research quest in Alola.

Step 3 of 4:

  • You must catch 10 pokemon to receive 5 Framby Berries.
  • Land 3 Nice Throws and you'll receive 15 Super Balls.
  • Be generous and send at least 5 Gifts to your friends to receive 1 Poffin.

By completing this stage of the Melemele Island path, you will receive a total of 1500 XP, 1500 Stardust as well as 3 Silver Nanana Berries.

Step 4 of 4:

  • Be generous and send at least 15 gifts to friends to receive 1 Poffin.
  • Take at least 5 photos of wild Pokemon to get 15 Hyper Balls.
  • Trade Pokemon 3 times and receive 1 Star Piece.
  • Earn 10 hearts with a buddy to earn 3 Golden Framby Berries.
  • You need to make a new friend to get 1 Lure Module.

Completing this stage of the Melemele Island path will reward you with a Pom-Pom style Plumeline Hat, 4 Lucky Eggs, and you will have a guaranteed encounter and with a Raichu de Alola (maybe chromatic / shiny).

Below are all the challenges and rewards you will get if you follow the Akala Island path from the Alola Special Research quest in Alola.

Step 3 of 4:

  • You must catch 10 Pokémon to receive 5 Framby Berries.
  • Land at least 3 Nice Throws and you will receive 15 Super Balls.
  • Walk at least 2 km to receive 1 incense.

Completing this stage of the Akala Island path will reward you with 1500 XP, 1500 Stardust, and 3 Silver Nanana Berries.



Step 4 of 4:

  • Walk for at least 7 km and receive 1 incense.
  • Spin 10 PokéStops or Arenas and you'll receive 15 Hyper Balls.
  • You must complete 3 Field Studies to receive 1 Star Piece.
  • Take at least 5 photos of wild Pokémon and receive 3 Golden Raspberry Berries.
  • Hatch 3 eggs and you will get 1 Super Incubator.

By completing this stage of the Akala Island path, you will get 2 incubators, 1 Hula-style Plumeline hat and you will have a Guaranteed encounter with an Alola Ossator (maybe chromatic / shiny).

Below are all of the challenges and rewards you will get if you follow the Island of Ula-Ula path from the Alola Special Study quest in Alola.

Step 3 of 4:

  • Capture at least 10 Pokémon to receive 5 Framby Berries.
  • Land at least 3 Nice Throws and you will receive 15 Super Balls.
  • Capture 5 different Pokémon species to receive 1 Lure Module.

Completing this stage of the Ula-Ula Island path will reward you with 1500 XP, 1500 Stardust, and 3 Silver Nanana Berries.


Step 4 of 4:

  • You must capture 30 Pokémon to receive 1 Frost Lure.
  • Land 10 curveball throws to receive 15 Hyper Balls.
  • Use at least 15 Berries to catch Pokémon and receive 1 Star Piece.
  • Land a total of 5 Nice Curve Throws in a row to receive 3 Golden Framby Berries.
  • Catch a total of 15 different species of Pokémon to receive 1 Magnetic Lure.

By completing this stage of the path to the island of Ula-Ula, you will receive 4 incense, 1 Flamenco-style Plumeline hat and will have a Guaranteed encounter with an Alolan Vulpix (maybe chromatic / shiny).

Below are all the challenges and rewards you will get if you follow the Poni Island path of the Alola Special Research quest in Alola.

Step 3 of 4:

  • Catch at least 10 Pokémon and you will receive 5 Raspberry Berries.
  • Land a total of 3 Nice Throws to receive 15 Super Balls.
  • Defeat at least 2 Team Rocket GO minions and you'll earn 1 Radar Rocket.

By completing this stage of the Poni Island path, you will get 1500 XP, 1500 Stardust and 3 Silver Nanana Berries.

Step 4 of 4:

  • Participate in Go League battles 10 times and you will get 1 Rocket Radar.
  • Defeat at least 4 Team Rocket GO minions and you'll earn 15 Hyper Balls.
  • Recharge a Pokemon 10 times and get 1 Star Piece.
  • Successfully defeat a Team Go Rocket leader to earn 3 Golden Framby Berries.
  • Win at least 3 battles against trainers in the Go League to earn 1 Premium Battle Pass.

By completing this stage of the Poni Island path, you will earn 3 Star Pieces, a Buyo-style Plumeline Hat, and have a Guaranteed encounter with a Noadkoko from Alola (maybe chromatic / shiny).
