Here's the complete Super Smash Bros. Tier List. Ultimate, according to professional gamers in the series.

The great peculiarity of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. is that it is easy to learn, but very complex to master. Since all the characters play the same way, unlike games like Street Fighter, it's much easier to find viable and balanced fighters here. There are, however, some that are way above all others, especially in the hands of gaming professionals who have mastered all the advanced techniques.

To learn more about the advanced techniques, consult our guide on the 3 techniques to know, or our glossary for an exhaustive list of all the techniques of the game. You can also click on the portrait of each character in this guide to consult his sheet of presentation.

The third-list that we propose to you here is that of Zero, undisputed champion of Smash 4 having won more than 50 consecutive competitions as well as the Smash Ultimate Invitational of E3 2018. This list therefore represents his opinion and his expertise as a professional player and it corresponds to his first impressions on each of the characters . Of course, other players may have a different opinion. Let us also remember that a tiers-list is not comparable to a rock-paper-scissors. It is not the one who takes the strongest character who will necessarily win.

The Smash Ultimate tier-lists are based on competitive game rules: a fight on several Stocks, on Final Destination or Battlegrounds, without objects or Final Smash gauge.

Top Tiers characters are characters with such high potential that they outrank all others and will have a high chance of being seen in competition. These are either extremely fast characters, like Pikachu ou Sheik, or a character with weapons interesting enough to take the advantage, such as Richter et Palutena.

At the very top of this rank, and therefore of the game, is Pikachu whose movement speed and attacks allow him to defeat just about anyone. His attacks form small electric arcs that ultimately work like a short sword, allowing him to attack while keeping a minimum distance.

The High Tiers consist of characters with very high qualities and enough power to defeat all other characters, if played by the right people. They don't have characteristics that make them truly superior to others, but they don't have flaws either, which makes them quite acceptable characters for those who know how to master them.

Mid Tiers

The Mid Tiers are made up of characters with obvious weaknesses, whether through their slowness or lack of punch. They're not bad for playing online or against friends, but their flaws will be immediately apparent to a highly skilled player who knows how to exploit their every weakness.

Low Tiers

The Low Tiers consists of four characters who don't have much going for them. They are not able to perform real combos, to stay on the field, or even to return to it in the case of Little mac. These are characters to avoid if you hope to win.
