Super Mario Odyssey is a game that knows how to adapt to both newcomers and veterans. Whether you do the first category or the second, we have some tips to help you make the most of the adventure.

Learn to Jump

What best defines Mario is undoubtedly his jumps. In addition to the classic leap, our hero knows how to do a lot of antics that can be useful. If all of them are not necessarily essential to you, learn all the same the two most useful.

- The Back Jump: When you are stationary and you hold the L trigger to lower yourself, you just have to press the jump button to perform a back jump much bigger than a classic jump. With your back to high walls, you will often have the opportunity to climb over them in this way.

- The Long Jump: It is practically the same manipulation as for the back salto. This time you need to be on the move to perform it. Hold the L trigger to duck and then immediately press the jump button, Mario will do a very long jump that will cover much more distance.

Completionism

There's a lot to do in Super Mario Odyssey, and you might want to complete one game area completely before moving on to the next. In this case, know that it will necessarily be impossible. Indeed, many Moons are only available once other countries have been visited. The inhabitants of each country you have visited start traveling and some will offer you challenges in countries you have already visited. It is therefore better to go to the end of the adventure for the first time before starting to play the completionists.

Assisted Mode

If a test seems too difficult or frustrating, especially in the platform phases, do not hesitate to activate the Assisted Mode for a few minutes. In this mode, your life points are doubled and you heal yourself automatically after a few seconds without taking any damage. Also, you won't die while falling. Assisted mode is available at any time from the game's options menu.

Photo Mode

The photo mode, in addition to being the absolutely essential tool to shine on your social networks, allows you to pose the action. From there, you can breathe a little and take the time to observe what surrounds you, be it a boss or a puzzle. Moreover, you can move the camera to see hidden corners in normal times. If you suspect the presence of a secret, do not hesitate to use it to inspect all this.

Listen to Cappy

There are moons everywhere and even where you have found them before. You may have noticed it, but each mini sub-zone contains at least 2 moons. When you go through a double red door, the trial behind it usually contains a classic moon at the end of the path, but also a hidden moon. When you return to one of these previously visited areas, Cappy will tell you if you forgot any moons or purple coins there.
