NBA 2K22 update 1.8 patch notes CJ Keller | December 1, 2021 Bye, bye left right cheese.

Update 1.8 has arrived for NBA 2K22 and here is the full list of changes and fixes added with this latest patch. The major update fixes a big complaint from NBA 2K players by fixing the left/right cheese issue. Since downloading the patch, players have instantly noticed that the way players control the field has changed. While removing that cheesy move that had become epidemic, there's a lot more to dig into with Update 1.8 on current and next-gen NBA 2K22.

Current General Patch Update 1.8 – 12.1.21

GENERAL

  • Lots of preparation for NBA 3K2 Season 22, launching this Friday at 8am PT/11am ET/16pm GMT!
  • A Gatorade app is now available on the in-game phone while on the cruise ship
  • Slowed sideways dribble throws and added a shot penalty that applies to players who excessively zigzag from side to side before shooting
  • Fixed an issue that caused ball handlers to hang and slow down when running in transition
  • Adjusted the Intimidator badge to apply to jump shots in addition to dunks and layups

  • Fixed an issue with free throws not visually counting points in the in-game agenda tracker
  • Prevents Series I Diaries from qualifying for all players in the Tracker Diary
  • Some event cards will now display their names in auction results
  • Fixed some stats not updating in MyTEAM menus

  • Removed 75th anniversary logos from Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz City uniforms to reflect real-world usage

PLAY

  • Slowed sideways dribble throws and added a shot penalty that applies to players who excessively zigzag from side to side before shooting
  • Fixed an issue that caused ball handlers to hang and slow down when running in transition
  • Adjusted the Intimidator badge to apply to jump shots in addition to dunks and layups
  • Improvements to defensive positioning logic have been made to help CPU screen defenders more effectively protect pick and roll
  • Added a new 'Cutter Help' defense which allows defenders to help recognize a ball being cut into the basket and position themselves to protect it. This can be disabled with the Drive Help setting in the defensive settings menu

THE CITY

  • Various stability and performance improvements have been made across the city
  • Addressed some issues that could occur when trying to join a friend in Private Gatorade Courts

  • Ongoing fixes and adjustments have been made to improve the overall quest experience and ensure that all quests flow and complete properly.
  • The Edit Playbook menu should now work properly when unlocked
  • You can now edit your selections when using the Suggest Free Agents menu

  • Fixed an issue with custom uniforms that could allow users to appear invisible in multiplayer games
  • Fixed an issue with free throws not visually counting points in the in-game agenda tracker

  • Updated thumbnails on uniform cards to reflect new sponsor patches

  • Ongoing stability fixes and improvements have been made to MyNBA, MyNBA Online and The W
  • You can now properly edit team rotations in MyNBA Online
