Logitech G935 test: a high-end gaming headset that keeps all its promises?

DESIGN : 3/5

Logitech G935 test: a high-end gaming headset that keeps all its promises? The G935 takes up, overall, the aesthetic lines already widely used by the G range from Logitech. Here, there is no question of being flashy but above all sober, with clean lines and a fairly classic monochrome complexion. Despite its simplicity, there are a few patterns that come to work on its design with a little more finesse, especially on the ear cups, the headband and its interior, and thus make it possible to establish a slender design. However, we can also note a certain lack of overall character: clearly, the G935 is not a show-off model and its lack of real artistic risk-taking could put off the most exhibitionist. Never mind, Logitech has nevertheless managed to put together a particularly homogeneous helmet that comes without difficulty to catch up with these shapes: whether at the level of its various buttons, its assembly of elements or the integration of its microphone perfectly retractable and tiny, we have a visually solid and relevant object.

In addition, its fully customizable and well-integrated LEDs allow a significant touch of modernity, greatly enhanced by RGG Lightsync technology. This allows in particular to appropriate the colors to the game in real time, and even to any content broadcast by the device on which you connect the G935. The intention is commendable but, however, it is difficult to grasp the interest of it since the accessory is on our head and it is impossible for us to appreciate the result, unless we make it a showcase for spectators or in demonstration conditions. We therefore find ourselves quickly deactivating these lights, a gesture which also saves up to four hours of autonomy.

COMFORT: 4,5/5

Logitech G935 test: a high-end gaming headset that keeps all its promises? There is not much to complain about for this G935 whose ergonomics is undoubtedly one of its major arguments. With a precise weight of almost 380 grams, the headset is however far from being positioned among the lightest on the market (for comparison, we tested a few weeks ago Razer Kraken Tournament at 234 grams) but it is clear that Logitech was able to design a very comfortable and finely composed tool. Its padded ear cups and headband allow anything but aggressive support, even over time or, really, very little insistence. Of course, the model would have benefited from being less heavy but difficult to spit in the soup, the structure of the helmet making it possible to land intelligently on the skull and to marry its shapes, including by carefully wrapping the entire ears. The G935 manages to attenuate outside noise well, even if it obviously does not reach the effectiveness of true active noise reduction technology.

In addition to this relevant choice of materials and shapes, Logitech can boast of having brought this G935 a very nice mobility. First of all, thanks to a more than appreciable wireless technology which allows you to play – or enjoy your music, whatever your activity – up to more than ten meters away. Apparently, this is not an innovative asset strictly speaking but still just as idyllic for immersing yourself in the conditions of your choice and without encumbering yourself. In addition, the discretion of its microphone is also part of a directive of fluidity of movement: in general, it is difficult to be embarrassed or really tired by the physics of this precisely designed helmet.

PERFORMANCE : 4,5/5

Thanks to good isolation and, above all, its DTS Headphone:X 2.O technology, the least we can say is that the 7.1 rendering of the G935 is particularly successful. As a reminder, the latter makes it possible to clarify and finely resituate sound elements in space, while supporting high-resolution audio without lowering the sampling frequency. The result is then a real spatialization of the sound environment for an ultra-effective immersion, with sound effects that only emerge, overall, clearer and more vibrant. With a frequency set at 2,4 GHz more than enough for the intended use of the device, the G935 performs well and is also suitable for listening to music thanks to more than adequate treble and bass. . The icing on the cake, the power of the device allows a high amplitude: be careful, therefore, not to explode your eardrums.

Logitech G935 test: a high-end gaming headset that keeps all its promises? The G935 can also boast of exemplary practicality. The wireless connection with the device of your choice is absolutely trouble-free thanks to the USB key and, if you ever want to use a cable (USB C or 3,5 mm jack, as desired) , of course it couldn't be simpler. Even better, the helmet can be customized down to the smallest detail thanks to the various optimization buttons placed on the side: parameters that can be easily determined in depth thanks to the total compatibility with G-Hub. Proprietary software from Logitech, this allows you to create (and even share with the community) your own presets according to tastes and colors. This includes the equalizer but also the remote controls or even the lights emitted by the device's LEDs. However, it will be necessary to go through the software on PC or Mac and we would have liked a mobile application worthy of the name to really benefit all profiles.

In the end, this Logitech G935 can boast of having done a precise and damn efficient job, while offering a wide range of choices to the user. Even its battery, 12 hours lights off in wireless mode, is quite honorable and then offers prolonged use, all the more comfortable thanks to its general ergonomics. The object might have benefited from working more on its artistic aspect with more guts, its gadget being only luminous and, therefore, quite useless since placed outside the field of vision. The object is nonetheless an excellent peripheral suitable for both solo and multiplayer video games for a frankly appreciable experience.
