Crossplay Street Fighter 6 is possible for everyone to play together

Scheduled for release sometime in 2023, Capcom's next fighting game, Street Fighter 6, continues to delight players with announcements that are sure to make you smile. In addition to the return of the emblematic characters of the license and the new faces who will compete in this new opus, Capcom has already confirmed a slew of game modes in addition to a story mode much more worked than before which will have open areas to explore freely between each fight, all with a new graphic style. From now on, full support for crossplay (cross-platform play) and netcode rollback is on the table.

Street Fighter 6 crossplay and rollback netcode, what you need to know:

Good news, in Street Fighter 6 everyone can play together. Crossplay will allow fans of all platforms to come together on the same servers to compete against each other, PlayStation vs. Xbox, PC vs. PlayStation and vice versa ensuring that Street Fighter 6's player base is not segmented.

For Street Fighter V, the Capcom teams had chosen a delay netcode that the community did not see very favorably. A bad netcode is something harmful when you play online, which can create latency and disadvantage one of the two players who compete. For Street Fighter 6, the development team has listened to the community, stating that a "netcode rollback" will be in the game, which will ensure in the vast majority of cases that the same thing is displayed on screen on both players who are fighting.

Even if the "netcode rollback" is something difficult to understand when you dig into the subject, tell yourself that players are winners with this system for a better online gaming experience and fairer matches. Obviously, if Capcom previously used a delay netcode, it is because this technology has the advantage of being less expensive.

With more and more studios following this path as well, it's no wonder Capcom is adapting accordingly (and they would have taken a lot of flak anyway with bad netcode).
