Guide V-Rising tips and tricks to become a powerful vampire

The V-Rising game from Stunlock studio offers a lot of gameplay mechanics to master with a solid combat system and an important part in exploration. Players must learn to survive in a hostile environment as a vampire who has just woken up from a millennium and discovers the world. In V-Rising you have to craft weapons and armor, collect many resources to build your own castle and drink a lot of blood to keep fit. If you are new to the adventure or already have a few hours on the clock, we have some tips and tricks to share with you.

Tip 1 – Sun and daylight are a danger to your vampire:

It is well known, vampires hate daylight (and money too)… If you are still taking your first steps in adventure, you might be surprised by the sunrise which is just something deadly for your character and can wipe them out in seconds.

That doesn't mean you have to hide all day long until it gets dark though, it just means you shouldn't stay in the light for more than a few seconds before you're charred in place. Make sure you stay in the shadows as much as possible. When the fiery orange spark effect appears above your character and the screen gets brighter and brighter, it's time for you to get into a shadowy area before you take serious damage. !

If you're going to be away from your keyboard and screen for just two minutes, you should seriously consider leaving your vampire in a really shady place that won't let in light... Be aware that the sun moves throughout the day in V-Rising and the shadows move accordingly.

Tip 2 – Your map shows you where to find certain types of resources:

As you explore new locations in "V Rising", areas will mark up on your overview map. If you are looking for a particular resource, do not hesitate to open it (key M by default) to find out where to look. The bandits copper mine is for example a good source of ores and copper ingots or infernal bugle while a cemetery for example will allow you to find a lot of grave dust. The map also gives you valuable information with the vampiric access portals (fast travel point) you have found and activated or also shows you the vault passages.

Tip 3 – Loot bandit camps as much as possible:

You should expect to face people when you approach a human camp, but risking it can be worth it. Indeed, you will often find large quantities of resources of all kinds. For example, you can prematurely obtain leather which is difficult to obtain for the first few hours and other useful things like useful paper for your library just by breaking decorative objects. Bandit camps also often have treasure chests just waiting to be looted. If you're observant enough, you might even find rarer chests that contain rare resources.

☆ Note – As you eliminate your enemies, you will sometimes see different types of hearts popping up on the ground. Intact hearts are very important, they allow you to obtain superior blood essences… More info about this here: V Rising Walkthrough How To Get Superior Blood Essences.

Tip 4 – Hunt the blood of the Vs to unlock new powers:

Very quickly, the game will have you making a "blood altar", it will allow you to track down and hunt powerful carriers of V blood. We advise you as soon as possible to go in search of them to drink their blood, which will help you allow you to seize their powers, but also their knowledge. You can then have access to new structures to craft or unlock recipes that will make your job easier as you progress.

Make hunting V-blood carriers a priority! Note that when you extract V blood (blood from bosses), you are completely invulnerable, whether it is enemy attacks or even sunlight. Best of all, once you've finished extracting V-blood from a carrier, you'll cause an explosion around them that deals heavy damage to all enemies and items that contain nearby resources.

Tip 5 – The blood of your enemies brings stat bonuses to your character:

In V-Rising you can absorb the blood of your enemies when they are weakened. It is very important to maintain your blood supply otherwise your vampire will gradually lose health before eventually succumbing. Blood can also be healed with the blood mending skill. You will notice that the humans and creatures you encounter in the game have different blood type types. Depending on the group and blood quality (indicated by a percentage), you will get different bonuses. You will be able to increase your movement speed, increase your attack power, and get other such effects depending on the type of blood you have acquired.

☆ Note 2 – Sometimes you would prefer to keep a human with high quality blood (100%) alive to convert them into a servant for your realm. Find out how you can do it with this dedicated guide: Guide V Rising How To Turn A Human Into A Vampire Servant With Dominating Presence.

Tip 6 – Place misty braziers around your castle to create shadow areas:

In the basics of the build mode, you will find foggy braziers. We strongly recommend that you place them all around your castle and constantly supply them with bones (obtainable in large quantities from all types of enemies) to create shadow areas all around the estate. Thus, even in the middle of the day, you will be able to leave your castle and work around it thanks to the shadows generated by the misty braziers which will protect you from the rays of the sun.

Tip 7 – The Blood Moon Makes You More Powerful:

During blood moons, your vampire gains power. You get a bonus that increases your blood type effects by 20% and additionally increases your movement speed by 10%. It's up to you to take advantage of it and find the best possible blood for this special night. The Blood Moon bonus remains active for the entire night. If you find a blood group that has a quality close to 100%, it will help you to go hunting carriers of V blood.

You can tell if the next blood moon will be by looking at the time dial at the top right of the screen. If the numbers for the following night are red, you will benefit from the blood moon bonus, which gives you time to prepare.

Tip 8 - Unlock your vampire's human form to trade:

While exposing the world of V Rising, you will sometimes come across merchants like "Gavyne, the crooked dealer" who often appears in the woods of Farbane. Like all humans, they will attack you on sight if you are in vampire form. You can take down the merchants without fear, they will reappear sooner or later. They are also a good source of silver coins (be careful depending on the amount of silver you carry on you, you lose health).

Later in the adventure, you can hunt down a V-blood carrier known as Beatrice the Seamstress, which will allow you to unlock a new transformation allowing you to hide from human sight as if you were one. of theirs which will allow you to interact with the merchants you come across to trade with.

FYI Béatrice the seamstress may be a level 38 V blood carrier, but she's not that powerful… Indeed, she will run away when she sees you! All you have to do is shoot her down, being careful of any enemies you may encounter as she tries to flee. You'll find Beatrice the Seamstress at Dawnbreak Village on the edge of Dunley Farmland.

Tip 9 – Go steal a horse from a human village to travel faster:

If you're still hanging out in the Farbane Woods, you may not know it yet, but you have the option of having your own mount, even from the start of the adventure. You just need to move further north towards the farmlands of Dunley. When you get there, look for a small militia encampment or farm to see horses stationed there. All you have to do is approach and steal the horse to bring it back to your castle.

It will definitely remain yours, even when leaving your game you will find it where you left it (there is a horseshoe on the map which marks its position). The horse is very practical to travel long distances and bring back to your castle resources which can sometimes be very far from the place where you have built your vampire domain.

Be careful though, you will have to keep your steed alive by supplying it with water. If you don't, he will die before your eyes sooner or later. Press "TAB" near your horse to open its inventory and give it containers filled with water. You surely have your coffers full!

Tip 10 – Don't forget to repair your equipment:

Like most survival games, equipment in "V Rising" wears out over time and needs to be repaired. You can do this very simply by bringing up the character menu with the “Tab” key on your keyboard. Once you're there, hover your cursor over the different parts of your body to see which piece of equipment needs repair.

To increase the durability of your various parts, you will obviously need to have materials in your inventory. If everything is OK, click with your mouse wheel. Don't forget to also check your weapons and tools which are in your shortcuts bar. Note that when your pieces of equipment reach a critical level of durability, a corresponding yellow icon appears above your blood gauge.
